How to apply for investment and development funding for Television Projects

How to apply for investment funding

Jerusalem Productions funds television programmes which are broadcast on mainstream channels which have a significant potential audience in the UK and ideally overseas. Directors look for programmes which demonstrate a "living Christian faith" and are accessible to their target audience. Directors are particularly keen to support programmes that will be broadcast outside designated religious slots and which will appeal to those who may have an unfocused faith or no faith at all and not just to practising Christians. Jerusalem Productions favours programmes which would not be made, or would be made but at lower quality, without its funding. Please contact the administrators if you have an outline and want to discuss it further.

How to apply for development funding

In addition to investment funding, Jerusalem Productions has a small budget from which it is prepared to consider making a contribution towards early development costs, up to a maximum of £5,000 per project.

Projects must fit Jerusalem Productions' normal editorial criteria and funding is only available for specific and tangible aspects of development work. General overheads are not allowable. In the event that the project goes into production, Jerusalem Productions requires full repayment of its original investment, plus a 50% premium, on the first day of principal photography. Jerusalem Productions will also require an appropriate on-screen credit on the finished programme.

As security against its investment, Jerusalem Productions will take a charge over the copyright in the project, which is automatically redeemed when the investment is repaid along with the 50% premium.

If the project does not go into production, any unspent money must be returned to Jerusalem Productions.

These terms are non-negotiable.

The Directors of Jerusalem Productions generally meet three times a year - in January, May and October. Applications must be submitted at least six weeks in advance of the meeting.

Applications for funding should be in writing and should include the following information:

Brief background information about your production company and its previous work and a brief curriculum vitae of key people involved in the project for which you are seeking funding.
